Accommodation
Description
Welcome to Solängen’s small cottage by Lake Bunn. Here, you will stay in a well-maintained and charming cottage with tasteful décor, right by Lake Bunn. You can enjoy stunning sunsets from the large sun-drenched terrace, which is equipped with a nice dining set and grill. The cottage is of a high standard and features a sleeping loft with a double bed (160 cm wide) and a junior bed (155 cm long). There is also plenty of storage space, including new, fresh dressers. For cozy indoor evenings, the cottage also offers an Apple TV.
On the ground floor, there is a sofa bed that can easily be unfolded into two beds. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso machine, and Moccamaster. The refrigerator and freezer are from 2023. The small dining area has room for 4 chairs, and the table can be folded down to free up space for unfolding the sofa bed.
In the fully tiled bathroom, there is a shower, sink, toilet, and a small window for ventilation.
You are welcome to borrow the rowboat located by the shoreline on the property. Fishing permits can be purchased through ifiske.se. If available, additional boats, including a motorboat and canoes, can be rented from the neighbor. The owner has a cabin nearby, which they rarely use.
Things to see and do in Bunn and the surrounding area
At Bauergården, 5 km away, there is a restaurant, as well as the opportunity to rent canoes, kayaks, and rowboats.
From Bauergården (and also from Bunnström), the "Trolska boat tours" depart, offering a beautiful guided tour through the scenic canal between Lake Bunn and Lake Ören. Or, you can take the rowboat, pack a small picnic, and row to the canal yourself. The famous artist John Bauer lived in Bunn for some time, and it’s easy to see how he was inspired by the surroundings. A trip to the canal feels like stepping into one of John Bauer's paintings.
There are also plenty of hiking trails, such as the Bauer Trail, which stretches from Huskvarna to Gränna and is 57.7 km long.
20 km away is the charming summer town of Gränna, where children can buy the famous polkagris candies and even watch them being made. Gränna is also home to the Grenna Museum and the Polar Center, which offers exhibitions on the André Expedition. From Gränna harbor, boats depart to Visingsö, where you can ride traditional horse-drawn wagons, explore the ruins of Visingsö Castle, and enjoy lunch, coffee, or an ice cream buffet at one of the restaurants or cafés.
There are plenty of mushrooms in the forests and flea markets in the surrounding area. Don't miss a visit to the flea market in Ölmstad, which is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday year-round.
In Jönköping, you’ll find shopping, Lake Vättern, and a variety of exciting museums, such as the Matchstick Museum, Jönköping County Museum, and the Husqvarna Museum, among others. Other "must-sees" in Jönköping/Huskvarna include Smedbyn—the houses here were homes for factory workers in the 18th century—Rosenlunds Manor and Rose Garden, and the Matchstick District, a cultural gem from the 19th century.
Around Gränna, you’ll also find Tegnér Tower—a 27-meter-high tower offering sweeping views—Grännaberget with jogging tracks, hiking trails, and a coffee house from 1924, as well as Röttle village with 18th-century buildings. At the Ravelsmark Farm Shop (15 km), you can buy local delicacies and homegrown vegetables. At Rudenstams (24 km), you’ll find local specialties, apples, and apple juice.
Wireda Golf Club is 15 km away, and Gränna Golf Club is 18 km away.
